It's been roughly 4-5 days since I heard of your passing & I'm not any less broken than I was the second I heard of it. We were like best friends & practically brothers for 3 years & while I wish it was a different 3 years of your life I will always cherish it & keep it close to my heart. How I wish we met at a different time so we could have had many different types of memories that I could look back on that would make me smile. And while we did have plenty of those memories & not all our memories were corrupt, it still hurts so bad knowing that if we met a different time we would still probably have been friends recently.

My heart goes out to Matt's family & friends. I am so incredibly sorry for the loss your bearing right now. You have my word from the bottom of my heart that each & every day I will pray for you so that you may cope with this loss as best as you possibly can. As someone who has lost a girlfriend in a tragedy, I know a thing or two about loss & one thing I can assure you is that despite the horrendous amount of pain you are feeling now & despite the fact that moving on seems like a feat deemed impossible, time will heal all wounds. The memories that are turning your moods to sorrow at this moment will make you smile due to the memories you all have made in the past. Your sad thoughts will turn to happy memories & the thought of reuniting with him again will overpower all the depression that comes with the grieving process. I know right now you may be in shock yet, however, the grieving process has already started & it'll end with acceptance & that does not mean you have moved on or that you have forgotten about him. It just means that you guys have learned to live with him right by your side in a different way & have learned to live with patience knowing that one day you will see him again. Matt was such a good & loyal person that just made a few mistakes like everybody else in the world. I'll choose to remember him as the person that would do anything for the people he loved.

So may God watch over Matthew's family & friends, especially his father Matt, his mother, Diane, his sister, Brianna, his girlfriend, Kailey & his unborn child. May that child grow up into a healthy young man & may he always be reminded of his father & his father's love for him.

My prayers are with your family at this time. I am so very sorry for Matt´s life being cut so short. I met Matt in first grade, and we remained good friends until about middle school...we each got into our own thing but he ALWAYS would say hello throughout high school, and would tell my dad and brother to tell me "hi" when they´d see each other at the gym. I remember listening to the offspring and playing halo when we were kids...there was nothing better in 2001. I believe he´ll be with you always, and let his love of friends and family radiate his life. I will pray for Matt the rest of my life, and may his memory be eternal.
