Melba F. Wickert
Melba F. Wickert, 93, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, February 2, 2009 in the V.N.A. Hospice of St. Lukes, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of the late Sterling W. Wickert, who died in 1994. Born in Northampton Heights, Northampton County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar C. and Stella M. (Ruch) Fulmer. She was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1934 and worked for Laros Silk Mill and Bethlehem Steel Printery for several years. Melba was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, Bethlehem. She loved her family and enjoyed life. Survivors: Daughter, Barbara A. Abel and her husband, James E., of Lower Saucon Township; three grandchildren, Chris Abel and his wife, Tara and their daughters, Amber and Samantha, Michael Abel and his son, Tyler, and Stacy Ownbey and her husband, Jarrod and their daughter, Morgan. Melba was preceded in death by her brother, Arlon E. Bud Fulmer. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home.
