Michael John Acker

Michael J. Acker, 58, of Macungie, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the companion of Leslie Dech for many years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Ruth (Reinert) Acker of Alburtis and the late Sterling Acker. He was a member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis. Michael worked as a welder for Dana Inc. and an electrician for Wetzel Enterprises. He worked for Nestle Waters as a forklift operator and lastly, he worked at Mack Trucks. He will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a member of the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club and the Nimrod Fish & Wildlife Association, Alburtis.

Survivors: mother Ruth; sons Derek M. of Salt Lake City, UT, Kyle M. of Kutztown; brothers Glenn S. and his wife Cheryl of Orefield, Scott A. of Hedgesville, WV; sisters Diane R. McHugh and her husband Robert of Allentown, Lisa M. Allen and her husband Chris of Emmaus; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 8 at Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Rd., Breinigsville. Calling will begin at 10:00 AM.
