Philip Acker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center on Feb. 26, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Philip Acker

Beloved Brother, Friend, and Inspiration

Philip Acker, 63, of Delaware, left us peacefully while at his home, leaving behind a legacy of

kindness, laughter, and unwavering support for those fortunate enough to know him.

Philip was more than a brother to the Acker Family, he was a confidant, and a source of

strength for his family and friends. His genuine compassion, remarkable sense of humor, and

generosity touched everyone who crossed his path. Philip's warmth and open heartedness

made every gathering brighter, every challenge less daunting, and every moment more

meaningful.

He cherished time going on the annual Acker Brothers' Fishing Trips. His great humor and

sarcasm were enjoyed by his friends and brothers on every fishing trip. These trips took him to

Canada, Lake Erie, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and numerous fishing spots in

Ohio. Whether it was sharing stories around the dinner table, cheering on the Cleveland

Browns or his beloved Buckeyes, playing cards with his friends and family, His favorite spot was

any time he could spend with his three sons and family.

Philip's memory will forever remain in our hearts. Though his absence leaves an irreplaceable

void, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on through the countless lives he touched.

Philip was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish and explore the outdoors with family

and friends. He was a long-time member of the Waldo Sportsman Club and managed the clubs

Turkey shoot for several years. He also enjoyed being a mentor to his sons' 4-H group as well

as coaching them in multiple sports. He was also a supporter of the Delaware County Junior

Fair and the Little Brown Jug. He was a long-time season ticket holder of his favorite team, The

Cleveland Browns, in the Dawg Pound.

Philip worked for many years at Sunray Stove Company as a part of their production team.

After parting ways with Sunray, he went on to pursue a residential electrical career that led to

him starting his own company, "Phil Acker Electrical". He maintained his company until his

passing, leaving behind his Electrical knowledge to his three sons.

Survived by his three sons, Philip Scott Jr., Jacob Wayne and Wyatt Hunter; seven brothers,

Chris, Paul, Tony, Jeff, Rick, Larry and Eric; sister Sherri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy Acker, sisters Kathryn Acker and

Karla Lindsey, and oldest brother, Michael.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 4 - 7 pm at the Snyder Funeral

Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware, where services celebrating Philip's

life will follow at 7:00 pm with his brother, Pastor Jeff Acker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Philip's

memory, honoring his lifelong commitment to helping others.

While we mourn his passing, we also rejoice in the precious memories we shared and the

profound impact he made on all of us.

Philip Acker will be deeply missed, but his kindness, laughter, and love will remain with us

always.
