Michael Bench Obituary

Michael C.J. Bench, 54, of Schnecksville died May 3 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was married to Nancy L. (Person) Bench for 14 years last May. He was a mechanic for a local business. Previously, he worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. Born in Jim Thorpe, he was a son of the late Michael and Emma (Levis) Bench. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a cook, and a member of Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, Slatington. Survivors: Wife; brother, Charles of Summit Hill; sisters, Eloile Taschler of Lehighton, Michele Zellner and Dorette Gombert, both of Jim Thorpe, Aldine Lick of Allentown; five stepchildren, 12 stepgrandchildren, two stepgreat-granddaughters. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Heintzelman Funeral Home, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.
