Mike smiled all the time. I never understood that but he immediately ended your down mood when he showed up to hang out. Never saw him have a bad day. How is that even possible? If you were having one he had a way of changing that by taking you somewhere to just change the scenery. He was the kind of guy that if you had a problem with anything from a car to a collapsing barn he would immediately dive right in to help get it fixed. Even if you didn't feel like doing it because it depressed you. No matter how long it took, or how many runs to the hardware store were needed, he just kept on it. If you got tired of the problem he still kept going. You could'nt talk him out of it. He mostly engineered any project you needed help with. Probably because he knew more than you, so you were better off leaving it to him. I was always amazed he stayed with it to the end. He always took an interest in anything you could think of. He knew guns, carpentry, electronics, mechanics, home projects and pretty much anything you asked him. Never left any reason to doubt his skills.
I am sorry life got in the way and interrupted our get togethers.
I think if Mike were to leave us a note he would say this: "Smile, always, because I can't think of any reason not to. If it sucks, joke about it. If you have a friend, help them out...to the end. Support them and watch them get better. Take an interest in everything life has in front of you. Be curious. Give every respect to your elders. Treat everyone you meet like a friend, make them feel at ease and you will learn something from them. Be confident, you deserve what you are doing in life. Work hard as hell....then work again to get a party together"
Mike, I'll miss you man, thanks for being there when I needed someone to make me change my mood.
I appreciated all those years.

I was saddened to hear about Mikes passing. I wanted to share a story about Mike from back grade school. One day after school we stayed at his home for dinner before going to the Boys Club for CYO basketball practice. He took me out back to the garage where he introduced me to his fathers plug chewing tobacco. Somehow we didnt get sick before going to the gym that day. He was a good guy. My sincere sympathies to his entire Molnar family.
