Nancy was a joy to know and I was blessed to call her my friend. I will always treasure every memory and I miss her beyond words . We shared everything from recipes , stories and love of our families, and conquering the worlds problems. Many lunches were enjoyed with our pool buddies and just the two of us. She fought a long hard battle and never complained except for maybe all the Dr appts .
Rest In Peace my friend you will always be a part of my life

This morning I swam and felt Nancy's presence with me. Until I moved to Pittsburgh a year ago, I was one of Nancy's many pool buddies...and she became so much more. We first became friends because we were the 'shorties" in the class and we both swam in the shallower end of the pool. I am a nurse and also was a cancer patient so she always shared with me what she was going through...always matter of factly and never feeling sorry for herself. We also both had husbands with dementia that we were caring for and there were many similarities with Harlan and Rich. Those discussions often involved a sense of humor...again we were similar. Sometimes we talked our way up and down the length of the pool for the entire class. As I was clearing out my house for sale, she helped me identify items for auction and again helped me to sell. I attended and watched her work during one of those auctions...she was so good at everything she did. Getting to know her and time spent with her was a privilege...I think she stopped by this morning to check out the new pool I am now swimming in!
