Norm was loved, admired and respected as a valuable member of the staff on the In-patient cancer unit of St Luke's Bethlehem, for many years. The nurses felt he was a God send to us,and so did our patients, when he voulunteered on our unit.Norm was a bright spot in our day,and always cheerful, helpful, and pleasant to all the patients. He was one in as million! A truly great guy,and I'm proud to have called him,my friend. My condolences to his family.

Norman Merkin was an extraordinary, unique and kind gentleman. His second career was his volunteer work at St; Luke's University Hospital, primarily in the newly created Cancer Care Unit. His devotion to the staff and patients had no end. Norm was a joy to so many folk who had the privilege of meeting him. He loved his family and included us in that circle. I will remember his smile, hugs, sense of humor and caring ways.
