Phyllis F. Bader

1926 - 2020

Phyllis Bader, 94, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth, PA.

The daughter of Abraham and Helen (Lukin) Salman, Phyllis was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. Phyllis was a Medical Technician and worked in various doctors' offices in New York. She married the love of her life, Paul Bader in 1949 and soon after moved to the Williamsport area where they raised their family. When her children were older, Phyllis returned to the workforce as a Secretary, retiring from Sprout Waldron.

Phyllis was very involved in the Jewish Community serving many terms on the Board of Directors of the Ohev Sholom Synagogue and as a very active participant in the Sisterhood and Hadassah. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed playing bridge and mah jongg.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Paul, of 67 years and her brother Lawrence Salman. She leaves her children Fred of Gaithersburg, MD, Jeff and his wife, Rosie of Easton, PA, and JoEllen and her husband Leigh of Longwood, FL; Grandchildren Sarah Burkhart and husband Edgar, Nicole Zaman and husband Amin, Miriam King and husband Chris, David Bader and wife Emily, and Leah Bader and partner Jim Gannon; Great-grandchildren Adam and Ian Burkhart and Logan Zaman, several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Due to COVID, there will be a small graveside service at the Ohev Sholom Cemetery on Tuesday, December 29th at 1:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held sometime in the future once the pandemic is under control.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Williamsport Federation of Jewish Charities, PO Box 1973, Williamsport, PA 17703.
