Richard was an enviable person. He was courteous of others, had an unwavering polite nature, and his work ethic was commendable to say the least. I only started working with him two years ago, but I quickly grew a great deal of respect for Richard. He never questioned lending a helping hand to nearby customers or coworkers in need of assistance. He also never let his personal troubles affect the people around him. Rich and I had powerful conversations about life and I got a glimpse of how resilient of a person he was. While retrieving carts, we often laughed together over the stories he would tell regarding his hangout shed, his friends, work stories with wild customers, and his novelty collection of abstract jewelry and Dungeons and Dragons figurines. He was all around just a pleasant person to work with. Thinking back on it, I recall meeting his mother once when she stopped into work and gave him sodas to help him through the late shift. I thought it was just the sweetest thing. Ms. Balla and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss him immensely, but our memories and his great personal qualities will be remembered forever.
