Richard L. Werkeiser Sr.

Werkeiser, Sr., Richard L.Richard L. Werkheiser Sr., 83, of Allentown, passed away on Tuesday July 29, 2014. Richard was the husband of Dorothy F. (Prizer) Werkheiser and they celebrated their 62nd anniversary this past February. Born in Allentown he was a son of the late Leo W. and Dorothy M. (Wasser) Werkheiser. Richard was the Assistant Principal for the Eastern Montgomery Vocational School for 26 years prior to his retirement. Previously he worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 16 years. After graduating from Allentown High School he attained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Temple University. He was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C. in Allentown. Richard was a member of the Army National Guard serving 33 years and retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Richard truly enjoyed life. Survivors: Surviving with his wife Dorothy, are his sons; Richard L. Jr. and wife Sandra, Leo W. and wife Alice, and William. And daughters; Kathy A. wife of Thomas Waters and Barbara J. Bogo. Richard has twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services: Services and interment are private at the convenience of the family. Contributions: In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Richard's name to his church 340 E.
