Robert C. Kudla Sr., 81, of Coplay, passed away February 13, 2016. He was the loving husband of 56 years to Barbara A. (Heidecker) Kudla. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Stephen and Catherine Kudla. Robert was retired from Mack Trucks after 28 years of service. He also worked for the Allentown Police Reserve for over 30 years. He was also a Police Officer for Northampton, North Catasauqua, and Coplay for many years. Robert was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing and bowling. Survivors: Wife; Children- Robert Kudla Jr. and wife Cathlin of CA, Peggy Roethlein and husband Kevin of Coplay, Linda Lavender and husband Greg of Virginia Beach, Christine Seip and husband Tim of Catasauqua, Mark Kudla and wife Coral of Allentown; 6 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Brother- Frank Kudla of Myrtle Beach; Mother-In-Law- Margaret Unger of Allentown. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters. Services: A calling time will be held on Thursday 6-8PM in Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. 950 N. Front St. Allentown, PA 18102. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robert's memory to Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown- Resident Activity Fund c/o the funeral home.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Kudla family..I'm shocked to hear about Bob's passing...Bob was a good person who I knew for many years while he worked at various police departments. He was a dedicated police officer and well liked by many. Bob often talked about his family and his many trips to Virginia Beach. What a strong family man. Rest in peace Bob and may god bless you.

I don't remember meeting Mr. Kudla when I was young but I did meet him once when he was working at May Fair. I noticed his last name and told him I'd gone to school with Peggy and Bob. He asked my name and said he knew my family. It was a simple interaction but I remember it still because he seemed like such a nice person; a good man. I am glad for meeting him, even if for a few moments. May his memory always be a blessing for all who loved him and may you be comforted by his love.

I must say it was as if a brick hit me this morning when I saw Bob's picture and obituary. I worked as a police officer with Bob in Northampton years ago and I always enjoyed every minute of it, we got along very very well. Bob was a good police officer and he was a wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time in your lives. As a police officer I want you to know that Bob will never be forgotten. May he rip forever. God bless you Brother.

My father was an outstanding man, and it seems like he left us too soon. I want him to know that he meant the world to me, and my heart is aching right now.
I wish I had the chance to talk with him again. My father and I shared a special bond since I was a little girl, and he took me everywhere with him. He has taught me so many things that I will never forget.
It doesn't seem fair the way it had to end. I will always cherish how he lived his life to the fullest, and how he always took care of my mother, and his grandson Mark, for all that he has taught me, and had given to others, I am eternally grateful.

My father was an outstanding man, and it seems like he left us too soon. I want him to know that he meant the world to me, and my heart is broken right now. I wish I had the chance to talk with him again.
My father and I had a special bond since I was a little girl, he has taught me so many things that I will never forget.
