Ryan Schock Obituary
Survivors: In addition to his loving parents Michael and Michele; sisters, Erika L. Smith (Joseph Kelly) of Colorado, Erin M. Schock at home; maternal grandmother, Martha M. (Rothrock) Jones of New Tripoli; paternal grandparents, Richard J. and Linda L. (Snyder) Schock of Slatington; uncle, Andrew Jones (Jen) of Allentown; aunt, Michele Schock of Slatington; large extended family and many friends; predeceased by maternal grandfather, Thomas G. Jones.
Service: A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Goodwill Fire Company #1, 6011 Memorial Road, Germansville with Pastor Wally F. Frisch officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. Saturday in the fire company. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erin M. Schock College Fund and/or Ebenezer U.C.C. Memorial Fund, both in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 196 Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.

Sending my deepest condolences and well wishes to Ryan’s family through this hard time. I had the pleasure of getting to know Ryan last year as his Math teacher, during my first year of teaching. Ryan was a great student and always had a story about what he did that weekend. He was extremely hardworking and cared about those around him, he will not be forgotten.

A week later and the shock of learning of Ryan’s passing still feels like a bad dream. Our family has your whole family in our thoughts and prayers. We keep recalling all the memories we have of seeing Ryan in church through the years, selling his woodwork ar events and the smile he would carry with him everywhere.
He touched so many lives in the short time he was here on Earth and will be greatly missed.
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

His loss is felt deeply amongst his friends, our son Paul being one of them and the lives he touched were many. I will forever remember Ryan and his sweet smile. He was in my third grade class and he always talked about how he didn’t like school yet he was one of the strongest if not one of the best math students in the class. I told him that one day he would work with his hands and do amazing things. As he grew up, I watched as did just that. He will always has a piece of my heart and I will cherish the memories we had in elementary school forever.

It was an honor and a pleasure to have had the opportunity to get to know Ryan as a student and as an individual. I will remember him for his positive, "can do" attitude and for always taking great pride in his work. He was well-like and respected by his peers and always took the time share his time, talents and personal experiences with others. My sincerest condolences and prayers go out to Ryan's parents and family members. His presence in our lives will be greatly missed.

Dear Schock family,
My deepest heartfelt sympathy of the loss of your son. I did not know Ryan, but when I heard the news, my heart absolutely broke for your family from such an unimaginable loss. I understand that pain. My dad passed away May 9, 2016 at 67 from the same type of tragic accident. I know the shock, disbelief, and extreme pain of receiving that type of news and trying to make it through the days ahead. I know my experience is not exactly the same as losing a 19 year old child as Ryan had his whole life ahead of him. Grief is unbelievably real & hard especially with this type of unexpected loss. But with the grace and hand of God, the love of family and friends and holding those precious wonderful memories close in your heart, help to lessen your pain & carry your family through this grief one day at a time. Ryan was a great young man. I had the privilege to know him as a little guy in wrestling and then as a young man. He has been a freind to my son. He would stop over at our house to visit Landen. He was always very polite, respectful and I enjoyed his company. This last hunting season I got to spend some time with him at camp. He always could make you laugh. I will miss Ryan! Just a wonderful young man!!

I was Ryan's English teacher in his junior year at NWLHS. The news of his accidental death has been on my mind and in my heart since I heard about it. He was a perceptive young man and a hard worker. I remember having fun with him in class, teasing him when he claimed he "wasn't good at English" when in fact, he was quite good.
In his short life, Ryan affected the lives of all the people he knew. He mattered. Nothing can change that.

So very sorry for your loss, Ryan will be missed by us all. I still remember how Ryan Zach and Ayden would have sleepovers and be up all night and the next day be outside playing in the creek catching tadpoles or building a damn. How when Gavin or Lucas would see Ryan they go running right up to him and no matter what Ryan was doing he'd stop right away and just grab them and lift them up and just start playing. Mike, Michele and Family - There are no words of comfort that can be provided to you at this difficult time. I pray that time will help to soften the pain in your heart and your memories will provide some comfort of the wonderful person that you have created and raised. Ryan will be missed so much. He was such a sweet, fun, loving, and boisterous young man. He had a great work ethic and was always so helpful and ambitious, especially when it came to annual butchering. He was always up for fun and we will miss that, along with his smile.
