Scott McFarland Obituary
Scott J. McFarland, 47, of Slatington died peacefully at home on Saturday, July 14. Scott was the companion of Stephanie Liebenguth. He attended Northwestern Lehigh Schools and graduated from Northern Lehigh High School in 1983. He was previously employed by Pany and Lentz Engineering, Michael F. Ronca Construction and Lehigh Engineering. He had his own company called Landmark Consulting. His interests included taking his son hunting and fishing. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed cooking. Scott was a dedicated second term Governor of Moose Lodge 1375 in Slatington where he was also a member of the Moose Pool Team. He was also a member of the Sons of American Legion Squadron 16, Post 16 Legion Riders, Slatington Skeet and Sporting Association and the Walnutport VFW. Survivors: Surviving in addition to his companion Steph is a son, Ian. Scott was the son of Bruce and Judith McFarland. He had a brother, Steve and wife Justine; a sister, Shannon and her companion, Richard LaBarre; nieces, Cayleah and Samantha; nephews, Christopher and Ricky; a grandmother, Elaine McFarland; aunts; uncles and cousins. Services: Will be at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington on July 19, 2012 at 7 p.m. A calling period will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington, PA 18080.

Today is Ian's birthday, I wish you were here to celebrate with us. Scotti and I got Ian the a.r drone helicopter because he really wanted it and I know you would have bought it for him because you did everything to make Ian happy. Mom and dad got him a new tv for his room. Wish you could've been there to help mount it, your brother really needed your help. I hope we are doing what you think is best for Ian. Scott was one of the best friends a girl could ever have. He was always there to make me smile when I was having a bad day or to give a hug when I really needed one. I miss you so much!!! I know you always said that we weren't aloud to cry if anything were to ever happen to you, but my friend the world is not the same without you in it and the tears we cry are not for you but for ourselves for having lost someone as special as you. You always said "you're the best", but you my friend were the one that was "the best". My heart has been broken. To all the family my deepest sympathy and if ever you need anything please call. I am just not ready or able to say goodbye! I loved you so much! You were such a good friend to me. I never had a friend who showed such unconditional love to me and everyone he came in contact with. We shared many fun times and a lot of great music. So many people teased us about our "BFF" status. You are and will forever remain, my best friend forever! How does one begin to say goodbye to your first love? Although we were no longer a couple he remained my best friend and we shared a lot of amazing times together. He was also a best friend to many people -how many people can truly say that? That is just the way he touched so many people and was always there for anyone at any time and with a smile on his face. I am glad we told each other often how much we loved, trusted and respected each other while he was still here and for that I am forever grateful. Ian, Bruce, Judy, Steve, Shannon, Justine, Steph and the rest of the McFarland and Bolton families - my heart sincerely breaks for you all. Ian, you were your daddy's world and he would do anything for your happiness. Keep those thoughts close to you to help you through this difficult time and remember you have alot of people close by that are willing to help at any time.
Scooter, Schputtie, Buckethead, DUI (whatever you called him) was one of a kind and will never be replaced in my heart or the hearts of many others. RIP

I have great memories of Scotty and the awesome times we had along with a lot of his friends. Anyone remember him putting on a helmet in the Slatington apartment then stand on his head and have you spin him? How about warming up in the gym with 10 reps of 300lbs on the bench? Good times!

Scott and his family were my second home when we were in school. I spent more time there than at home and have many,many fond memories. Although we went different ways in life, I will never forget Scott, he was my best friend growing up, and a major influence in my life.
