Sharon D. Zanders

1950 - 2021

Sharon D. Zanders 71, of Palmerton, PA passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital.  She was the wife of Dennis C. Zanders to whom she was married for 44 years and 4 months.  Born in Bath, PA on  February 25, 1950,  Sharon was the daughter of the late George A. Fritz and Catherine P. (Rake) Fritz.  Sharon graduated from Northampton Area High School in 1968.  She worked for many years as a restaurant manager, a phlebotomist at Gnaden Hutten Hospital and Health Network Labs. She was later employed at Health Solutions Inc.

Surviving along with her husband are her daughters; Shawna K. Zanders and companion Eric Neustadter of Walnutport.  Roxanne M. Koehler, husband Floyd Koehler Jr. of  Tamaqua. Granddaughter Loralei K. Koehler of Tamaqua. Her sisters; Linda Heist of Northampton, Brenda Cesanek of Bath, Shirl Bender of Nesquehoning, Evelyn Youse of Hummelstown and Elva Conver of Pottstown. Her brothers; Mel Fritz of Danielsville, Martin Fritz of Walnutport, David Fritz of Northampton, George Fritz Jr. of Slatington and Harry Pursell of Allentown.  As well as their spouses and many nieces and nephews.

She is  predeceased  by Sisters; Maryann Bahner, Betty Suranofsky and Irene Yost.

For Sharon, family always came first.  She loved working in her flower gardens.  After retiring she became a rockhound and enjoyed traveling to different mine sites to dig for rocks and minerals and panning for gold in New Hampshire.  Her life was a celebration and her memory will be cherished by her family and friends.

At Sharon's request, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
