Shawn Duffy Obituary
Shawn R. Duffy, 14, of Quakertown died Thursday, August 14, 2008, in St. Lukes Quakertown Hospital. Born in Sellersville he was the son of Debbie (Lidle) Duffy and Robert D. Duffy both of Quakertown. Shawn was avid soccer player and was a member of the Quakertown High School soccer team and the U-15 Travel soccer team in Quakertown. He earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 10. He finished the eighth grade at Milford Middle School where he was Distinguished Honor Student. Shawn attended Living Stone Baptist Church in Quakertown. Survivors: In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother Kevin, maternal grandparents Harry and Mary Lou Lidle of Macungie his Aunts, Nancy Comeau, Kim Duffy, Debbie Gresh and Ruth Polaski and an uncle, Mark Duffy. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, James and Margaret Duffy, and an uncle, James Duffy. Services: A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday August 18, at the Quakertown Christian School, 50 E. Paletown Rd., Quakertown PA 18951. Calling hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Quakertown. (www.crstrunk.com). Contributions: In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Shawn Duffy Memorial Fund, c/o First Savings Bank, 400 Commerce Blvd. P.O. Box 268, Milford Square, PA 18935-0268.

To the family ~
We are saddened that your family has to experience such a loss. We, too, lost our son recently and know the pain, questions, and pure agony you are feeling. I have no words to make it better .... but I do wish you much love and support during this difficult time. Surround yourself with people who love you, hold on tight to each other and dont expect anything from yourself. You grieve how you need to and when you need to but know that there are many people, including us, who are there for you when you need it. There is nothing worse than losing a precious child but somehow you have to believe that he is still with you in spirit. I cry tears for you. May you find peace !

I am so sorry for your loss. I can still remember Shawn as a toddler when you would bring him in to visit his grandpop Jim at ICQ. I remember how beautiful his blue eyes were & how sweet he was. I can't imagine what you are feeling right now. Know that you are in my thoughts & prayers.

I don't know if you remember us, but we lived on Clover Mill Road from 1995 to 2002. My son Jeremy used to play w/ Kevin and Shawn. We were so very sorry to hear of Shawn's death. May God Bless your family during this diffcult time.
