Stephen Molnar Obituary

Stephen Molnar (98) of Bethlehem, PA, passed away peacefully the morning of Friday, June 23rd.

Stephen was born to his parents Stephen & Francisha Borsodi in 1925 in Moshon Magyar Ovad, Hungary. He received his education in Budapest where he was also a gifted soccer club player. While working as a master electrician in a textile factory, he met his future wife, Martha Spisak. Stephen and Martha married and were later blessed with their son, Steve.

Stephen, Martha and Steve fled the Russian occupation of Hungary in 1956 & headed for America. Once settled in Pennsylvania, Stephen had a long career in facility maintenance at St. Luke's Hospital (Bethlehem).

Stephen was predeceased by his wife, Martha (1976) and his sweetheart of many years, Mitzi Turri. He is survived by his son, Steve (Barbara), grandsons John (Monica) and Mark (Terah), granddaughter Stephanie Rich (Mark Heightchew) and 3 great grandchildren.

Mitzi's family brought Stephen into their family and loved & cared for him for many years. This extended family includes Mitzi's daughter daughter Rosie Cook (Howard), son Joe Turri (Maryann), grandchildren Erin Loosli (Andy), Courtney Naftz (Andy), Elizabeth Good (Taylor), Katelyn Crombie (Carlin) and 3 great grandchildren

Stephen was a proud, long-standing member of the Friends of the Magyar Tanya (The Philadelphia & Vicinity Hungarian Sports Club). While Stephen had an affinity for the Philadelphia Flyers, and a good northern diner which served crispy bacon, his greatest love was for his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: Friends of the Magyar Tanya 1495 Huffs Church Road, Barto, PA 19504

You were my last living grandparent and I feel so thankful to have known and loved you for 35 years. I´ll never watch a hockey or soccer game or see a pack of Werther´s Originals without thinking of you. Andy and I will miss your check in phone calls and are so thankful you were able to meet your great grandson, Henry, over FaceTime. Rest in peace, Stevie. Love you.

LEGEND. what i'm grateful for, is the many many years you got to spend, visit, talk, learn and embody his spirit. to me, he lives on forever, via you. he was special, i get that, guess what, you are special also, never surrender this quality, never forget his wisdom, #MOLNARSTRONG...love and light, the g'town kelly's.
