Stephen F. Schaffer, 87, of Whitehall Manor, formerly of Northampton, died Thursday, August 8, 2013, in Whitehall Manor Senior Living. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Schmidt) Schaffer, who passed away in 2006. Born December 23, 1925 in Northampton, he was the son of the late Stephen and Johanna (Groller) Schaffer. Stephen worked as a meat packer at A&B Meats for over 30 years. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during WW II. Survivors: Son, Richard S. Schaffer and his wife, Carol Wikerd, of Whitehall; daughters, Denise (Sam) Schaffer and companion, Ray Wolf, of Egypt, Lynn, wife of Martin A. Donohue Sr., of Northampton, Kim, wife of Mark Kuntz, of Slatington, JoAnn Larkin, of Coplay; eight grandchildren, Christine, Drumond, Robbie, Collin, Holly, Kyle, Cortney, and Kelsey; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jake and Grace Lillian. Stephen was predeceased by a brother, Louis Schaffer; and sisters, Helen Csencsits, Dorothy Luisser, Jean Smith and Diane Cruz. Services: Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 14, at 10:30 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Family and friends may call Wednesday, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
