Teresa Marsico
At age 67, Teresa Marsico died February 22, 2005, after a lingering illness. Ms. Marisco was born in Allentown and was currently a resident of Manasquan, N.J. She became a nurse when she was 21 years old and found her lifes work when she became a nurse-midwife at age 28. Her gentle hands and caring heart touched the lives of many mothers-to-be. In 1972, she started the nurse-midwifery education program at U.M.D.N.J., where she took great pride in her job as a teacher. As a clinician, she could not rest until all the women, regardless of their ability to pay, received the best care available. She served as president of the American College of Nurse-Midwifes and is remembered as a wise woman, tireless worker and gentle soul. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Angelina Marisco. Survivors: Cousins living in the U.S. and Italy. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Denis Catholic Church, Manasquan, on Saturday, February 26, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements, Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan.
