One more great guy, taken too soon. In the few years we knew Bruce, it was always a pleasure to have a conversation, no matter what it was about, Bruce always made it easy to be yourself. We're gonna miss those conversations at the next get together, but most important, we're going to miss you! Our sincere condolences to Brenda & the family.

So sorry to hear about Bruce. My condolences to Brenda and the family. Will never forget the concerts, Eagles games, Iron Pigs games, as well as just hanging out. His specialty was stupid jokes! Will always cherish those memories. RIP Spundi.

Bruce was a classmate from the PAHS Class of '72. I got to know him better after he and I both retired while I was volunteering at the church and running into each other while out on walks, at Country Harvest or in the park for some special event. He was a very special guy. Bruce so glad our paths crossed in this walk of life. My deepest sympathies to your family as your presence will be greatly missed by so many. Thanks for the memories and God Bless.

When I heard of Bruce´s passing I thought Bruce.....no way, but it is true. When I seen him in July it was so nice to catch up and hear how good life was going after retirement. I didn´t work closely with Bruce but always loved to go see The Captives when they played. He will be truly missed and my heart goes out to his family.

Bruce, I’m gonna miss all of our driveway chats about sports, guitars, and hot rods. You were the most excited person when I showed up with the S-10 project (everyone else rolled their eyes lol). You said you absolutely LOVED those little trucks. When it’s finished, I’m gonna do the biggest burnout in your honor!!! Rest easy.

We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Bruce's passing. We became acquainted with him when he was playing with The Captives. He was a very talented musician and performer, who was an all-around great guy. I have a feeling he is already playing with some of the all time great musicians in heaven. May God grant peace and comfort to his family. May his memory live forever in your hearts until you are reunited. Rest in Peace Bruce, you are missed!!

Sending our condolences to Brenda and all the Richards’ family in the loss of our good friend Bruce. We have many great memories of times spent together, from New Year’s Eve, parties, seeing Bruce downtown and talking to him, at “Kleinfest”, and when he would stop by our house on his trips to the Service Team. There was always mention of the furry members of our families too. We will miss seeing him and his friendly smile and will cherish those memories always.

The first time I met Bruce was when he 'strutted' in the office at Blue Ridge Cable for his interview. Wearing a suit and acting all cool, I thought to myself 'this one's gonna be good'! Over time, Bruce was just another cable guy, but when he was grumpy, without fail he would call to apologize...affectionately calling me Bren. I was his biggest fan when the Captives played, rounding up coworkers and friends to go see him. He couldn't wait to tell me he learned Wooly Bully...the greatest song of all time (in his words!). Anyone who knows that song, knows it doesn't have many words in it, yet he never got it right! I would be dancing and singing along (to the right words) and he'd look at me and we'd laugh. Those were some great times for sure. I signed this as a coworker, however I would consider Bruce more of a friend to me, as we kept in touch even after he retired. The last time I saw him was when he was at our party in September, 2021. The Band of Brothers played and allowed Bruce and Daryl to sit in, playing a few songs...one of them being Wooly Bully :) We had a blast that day. I can't believe he's gone...this one hurts...but I will always hold those memories close to my heart. RIP my dear friend.

My heart goes out to the Richards’ family. I remember fondly Bruce always greeting me first with a big smile after a long ride north to visit my brother. I remember the kindness he showed my nieces and nephew and their children! This is so hard to believe and accept that a truly good man was taken too soon. My sincere sympathy to ALL who loved him! Hearts are broken!

My condolences to the Richards family. I use to jam with Bruce as a drummer and it was fun playing with him. If I recall he played with a telecaster guitar and Fender amp.
Thanks for being a dedicated musician and a cool person to play cover tunes with.

Bruce and I were born one day apart. We both enjoyed a passion for music and played guitar in various bands along the way. We were both "cable guys" at Blue Ridge Communications. We both married a Brenda Lee. I consider him my "brother from a different mother". I'll always remember reminiscing the experiences we had playing at different bars etc. over the years. If there's a rock and roll heaven, I know they have a hell of a band! Rest in Peace my friend.

Bruce was a great friend who loved his family, church and his country. We were truly honored to volunteer our time helping Bruce maintain St John’s Episcopal church. Our time together was not nearly enough, but we always shared a lot of laughs every time we met.
We will truly miss him.
