William Gottshall Obituary

William H. Gottshall, 86, of Pottstown, previously of Collegeville, both of Montgomery County, died Jan. 17 in Manatawny Manor, Pottstown. He was married to Katharine (Gotwals) Moyer Gottshall for 30 years last May and to the late Ruth Anna (Detwiler) Gottshall. He was a partner with the former McConnell & Gottshall Electric Appliance store, Phoenixville, Chester County, before retiring in 1982. Born in Limerick Township, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late William S. and Sadie (Hendricks) Gottshall. He was a member of Eden Mennonite Church, Schwenksville, and served as a deacon, trustee, treasurer and Sunday school treasurer. He was a 50-year member and past master of Keystone Grange 2, Trappe, Montgomery County. He was a member of Warren Masonic Lodge 310, Collegeville, and served on the board of Frederick Mennonite Community and Camp Men-o-Lan, Milford Township. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Barbara Shaffer and Marilyn Helm, both of Quakertown, Patricia Cluley of Palmyra; brother, Earl of Douglassville; sister, Florence Hunsicker of Souderton; stepdaughters, Peg Stoudt of Pottstown, Janet Kimmich of Collegeville; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, 13 stepgreat-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a stepson, Charles Moyer. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Trappe. Call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Arrangements, Jeffrey A.
