Marjorie Robinson Hoover

Marion-Marjorie Robinson Hoover, age 81, of Marion, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 at The McDowell Hospital. Ms. Hoover was born in Yancey County on April 16, 1928 and was a daughter of the late Marion Lee and Mary Belle Chrisawn Robinson. She retired from Collins & Aikman. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and a loving sister. Surviving Ms. Hoover are three children, Janice Blalock and husband, Jackie, Roger Hoover and wife, Barbara and Cynthia Hoover, all of Marion; sister, Vauta Elliott of Old Fort; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Robinson Family Cemetery.
