GRANT KAEGI Obituary

GRANT KAEGI  It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Grant Kaegi at the age of 69. Grant passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with COPD. Grant was a loving husband, devoted dad and grandpa, a passionate nature enthusiast, and a loyal friend to all who knew him.  His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He had a great ability to make everyone smile and his sense of humor will be missed. He loved to teach others how to find wonder in the world around them. A lover of the great outdoors, Grant hiked many mountains and enjoyed his time working on the landscape in his yard. Grant was passionate about giving back and donating his time to a variety of organizations including the Boy Scouts of America. Grant also had a true love for live music and enjoyed many concerts with his family and friends.  Grant is survived by his wife of 43 years, Tami Kaegi, his children Megan (Patrick) Leiker, John (Amanda) Kaegi, and Rachel (Daniel) Green and his nine grandchildren, Edison, Charlotte, Pierce, Kennedi, Lincoln, Kaden, Lucy, Sloan and Emilia. He is also survived by his sisters Gail (Greg) Haywood-Tucker and Chris (William) Kaegi-Stephens. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gial and Marge Kaegi and nephew, Kyle Clark Haywood. His memory will live on through the lessons he taught us about love, humility, resilience, and the importance of appreciating life's simple pleasures.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Arbor Day Foundation in Grant's name. Rest in peace, Grant. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Tami and Family,
I´ve started this a few times now but just haven´t been able to do it. I´m so lost for words with the loss of Grant!
I´m so thankful that GW had tracked me back down a few years back and we were able to reminisce about old times and our families. He was such a wonderful person and I cherished our friendship dearly. The last time he & I spoke we were laughing about your bachelorette party and the little skits we had done!!
God gave me the opportunity to share a couple of wonderful years with an amazing friend in the mid 70´s before our lives took us different directions, those are memories I have and always will cherish deeply in my heart. Last phone conversation we talked about kids, grandkids, retirement and music!!
Wow, what wonderful times we had......you will be missed GW but many songs from those days will take me back to the friend I´ve always loved and cherished
God Bless You Tami & Family!!
Love You,
Chuck Harold

Sending our condolence of your loss of Grant. His dad and my dad Shorty Moyer, were good friends and cohorts in their many adventures. I will always remember Grant and his smile! Rest in Peace my friend. (Note: My heart goes out to his family, I know how difficult it is when someone has COPD, my mother passed away in August 2021 from COPD). I am keeping you all in my prayers. Know that you have done all that you could do in caring for Grant while he was going through this illness. May God bless and keep you.
