FUNERAL HOME

Sheila Gilstrap Obituary

In loving memory of our Mother and Nanny, Mrs. Sheila P. Gilstrap, 82, of Marietta, Georgia who passed away on Wednesday, December 21st, 2022. She was born on February 19th, 1940 in Gainesville, Georgia. Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

She was always there for anyone, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.

Mrs. Gilstrap is preceded in death by her parents; Mr. William Gorman and Mary Kathryn Pitts. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Mr. Ronald Paul Gilstrap; her son, Jeff Bailey and her daughters, Paula Walker (Husband Lane Walker) and Kelly Herrero (Husband Robert Herrero), her grandchildren; Christopher Bailey, Maggie Walker, and Brock, Noah and Chloe Herrero, her great-grandchildren; Bronson and Stella Bailey and Zoey Courtney.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 27th, 2022 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Historic Marietta Chapel on the Marietta Square at 11AM. The family will receive guests starting at 10AM. Internment will follow the service immediately at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.
