Stephen Cone Obituary

Stephen was born in 1964 in Atlanta, Georgia to Frederick and Helene Duke Cone. Stephen attended Wheeler High School in Marietta, and Kennesaw State University, and was an active member of Eastside Church with his family.

Stephen grew up incredibly athletic and played multiple sports. He loved music and played the piano and drums. He enjoyed a healthy lifestyle of working out, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and playing golf. He was an avid outdoorsman, a lover of nature and animals and enjoyed spending time at his beloved Lake Blue Ridge. He was an amazing and protective older brother to his little sister Katie.

Stephen enjoyed early success in the medical sales field, and later in the home improvement industry, working in builder sales at Home Depot. He was genuine, welcoming, and extremely compassionate. He most valued experiences and deep relationships with friends and family.

Stephen was a true friend to all who knew him, a trusted confidant. He was slow to speak and quick to listen. Because of his loving attributes, people were always drawn to Stephen. He had a quick sense of humor and a zest for life. His kind-hearted and empathetic spirit gave him an understanding of other people's struggles. Stephen was always strong in his faith, and a committed follower of Christ. He was a truly remarkable son, brother, uncle, and friend. He demonstrated his love by caring for his elderly mom and dad in their later years.

Stephen maintained close relationships with his childhood and high school friends, golf buddies, fitness groups and his family. However, his deepest loves were his niece and nephew, Diana, and Douglas. Their relationship was unique. They spent countless hours talking on the phone every week, they were truly inseparable. Stephen always listened to them, protected them, encouraged them, laughed, and cried with them. He was a one-of-a kind "Uncle Teben." Their love for each other is inspiring. Stephen's impact on others is immeasurable and he will be forever missed.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Helene Duke Cone, his sister, Katie Cone Davidson (Steve), his niece Diana Davidson Hartsock (Langdon), his nephew Douglas Craig Davidson, Jr. and his forever family, Doug Davidson, Sr. Stephen was predeceased just seven weeks earlier by his father Frederick L. Cone.
