Bennie Ramirez Obituary

BENNIE Z. RAMIREZ
MAY 18, 1940-FEBRUARY 9, 2013
Bennie Z. Ramirez was born in Fair Akers, New Mexico on May 18, 1940 to Abdon and Isabel Ramirez, he passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2013 in Merced, California with his loving family by his side. He worked for more than 35 years as a custodian for the Merced City School District. His cherished time with his grandchildren was filled with much joy and laughter.  He was a huge fan of his grandchildren and never missed any of their sporting activities.  He loved working outdoors, fishing, watching nascar, taking trips to Chukchansi (which he would call Chucky Cheese), he was a avid 49ers fan, enjoyed watching western movies (Lonesome Dove being his favorite), and making his spicy salsa that he was known for.  Bennie was always there to give a helping hand with a smile on his face to many friends and family.  He will greatly be missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Ramirez, 2 children, Mario Ramirez of Winton and Caroline(Alex) Palma of Atwater, 2 sisters, Pat Stimac of Michigan and Lupe (Dave) Dawson of Merced, 11 grandchildren, Felicia, Monika, Corey, Joshua, Mia, Elijah, Kara, Mario, Alex, Gabriel and Jacob, 2 great-grandchildren, Maddox Benancio and Caleb, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his son Benny Ramirez Jr., his parents, Abdon and Isabel Ramirez, 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Friends and family are invited to visitation on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 4-8PM at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel, Atwater.  Rosary will begin at 5:30 PM with a Celebration of Life to follow at 6:30PM. Mass will be on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Atwater,  with burial to follow at Winton District Cemetery.

“Here comes Benny & and the Jets”; that's what my “Dad” would say; when he seen you and your family driving up to grandma & grandpa Ramirez's house on Easy St., when our families came together on special occasions, holiday's or just to visit. Uncle Benny, you will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten. I know you and Benji are high above the heavens; soring like Jets. I Love you and will always cherish our talks and visits. Aunt Rosie, Mario, Caroline, our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. May Gods and Uncle Benny's Love and Grace fill the voids left in your hearts.
