Chris Dewey Obituary
June 7, 1954 - January 22, 2015
Christopher Blaine Dewey passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2015, and is now with his Father in Heaven. He was born in Santa Ana, California on June 7, 1954 to Jacqueline and Blaine and moved to Chowchilla, CA as a small child. In junior high, he met a cute, bubbly blonde who became his best friend and the love of his life. He was active in high school and played football, was on the swim team and in the band. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Psychology and UC Davis with a B.S. in Nutrition. He went on to become a Physician Assistant through the Medical School at UC Davis. He dedicated his life to serving the people around him, both personally and professionally. As a lifelong learner, he continued his education, reading and taking courses to better equip himself to serve his patients and community. He was a member of Kingsburg First Baptist Church and his greatest joy was knowing Jesus Christ. His favorite pasttimes were loving on his wife and children, reading his Bible, training for triathlons, bicycling with his wife, and taking long ocean swims or a lap or two across Hume Lake whenever possible.
He is survived by his precious wife Cris of 36 years, his beloved children Jessyca, David, Grace, Zachary and Emily, and his son-in-law, Zachary Patterson; his sister Beth Dewey, his stepfather Truitt Dixon, his mother-in-law Vivian Looney and his brothers and sisters in law, Melissa Looney, Vic & Diane Metz and Bo & Sharon Looney.
His family would like to thank his co-workers at Kingsburg Adventist Community Care who cared for him and brought him much joy, as they together served the community that he loved.
The family will establish a memorial fund for a contribution to the community to be made in honor of Chris's spirit of health and service; details will be provided at the service.
