David Cameron Obituary

David Cameron
July 6, 1955 - August 20, 2014
Mr. David Carl Cameron, 59, passed away on August 20, 2014 in La Jolla, California, surrounded by his wife and children.
David was born July 6, 1955, in Merced, California.  He graduated from Merced High School in 1973, and worked at Bianchi and Son's Packing Co. for over 30 years.  As co-owner and vice president of the tomato company, he was instrumental in its continual growth and success.  The company employed several hundred local residents in its Merced production facility, and David worked tirelessly to ensure the success of its operation.
David lived in Merced for 51 years, and spent his last 8 years enjoying the beautiful weather in Carlsbad, California.  He was an avid golfer as a member of Merced Golf & Country Club, and the Shadowridge Golf Club. He was often found playing the guitar and loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.  He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii with his family, and always made sure his loved ones were enjoying life.
David married Jana Cameron in 1976 and was a proud father to four children. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jana Cameron of Carlsbad, CA; 4 children: Gregory and Ingrida Cameron of Los Angeles, CA, Christina and Paul Rupp of San Diego, CA, Phillip Cameron of Carlsbad, CA, and Michelle Cameron of San Diego, CA; 4 grandchildren: Alexis, Hudson, Tyler, and Bradley; parents: Leonard and Sandra Cameron of Mokelumne Hill, CA; siblings: Randy Cameron of Arnold, CA, Linda Allison of Folsom, CA, Diana Borg of Oak Park, CA, Raelyn Ranker of Angels Camp, CA, and Christy Cameron of Stockton, CA.

Dear Randy, Janna and Family,
I was so shocked to read of David's passing this weekend. He was too young but then, as the Good Book says, "Now we see in a mirror dimly" and can't always know for what purposes such things are meant. In any event (and to finish the verse) "then we shall see face to face." I know David is rejoicing in such imagery as I write this!
David, Randy and I were great friends in high school. A pack trip to the high country plus jaunts to the Merced River and various places in between make up some of my best memories of David. He also had such a great smile, seemingly glued on to his face!
I also didn't know until recently that David' son-in-law is Paul Rupp, who is one of my son, Adam Gray's, best friends.
Much love,
Marc Medefind
