Our condolences to the family. We had the pleasure of knowing Garrett from our dog training at Petco in Atwater. He was such a remarkable young man. He was so positive in his outlook on life and ready to conquer the world. He was one of those rare individuals that you wanted to know better. We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Buddy, our German Shepherd, misses his pal Garrett also. God Bless you brother; you are in a better place now.

So many great memories were made with Garrett. Emily and I met him as a guitarist in a band and convinced him to also play lead electric guitar for me. Such an honest and caring guy. We shared a love for good music, cars, and honest conversation. Our son Noah made a connection with him quickly, which was a bit unusual, but sweet. I'm glad we were blessed with the chance to be his friends.

I don't know how to put how I feel into words. You were my best friend's older brother and because of that I have known you for more than half my life. I hope you rest easy on the mountain with your dad.

I only met Garrett a handful of times thru Kat and Corey but nonetheless he left a huge impression on me. He was funny and showed what a loyal and loving friend he was.
He had the biggest heart and will be missed by all who knew him well and by those who had just begun to know him

My condolences to Garrett's family. He had such a wonderful life ahead of him and I know he would have continued to make the world a better place wherever he went. No one knows why these things happen or why we must always lose the best ones, but please know that he is so loved and left a lasting impact on everyone he met, myself included. I'll miss my friend so much. Fly high my friend, free of pain, and keep an eye on all of us until we meet again. ❤

My condolences to the family and friends. I met you at church and was thankful for you stopping by helping Gil to rebuild his 67 Camero, I know it was a four year project but, it was so worth it. I know that both you and Gil are probably in heaven talking about cars.

When I moved to Merced in 2011, I auditioned for Frost/Nixon at Playhouse Merced in the hopes of making some friends. I remember well going to dinner after rehearsal with Garrett, Chente, and Jim, and in that moment realizing that I had made my first theatre friends in Merced. I loved Garrett's quick and irreverent wit right away--who doesn't?--and grew to learn that there was so much grit and heart and loyalty and intelligence behind his characteristic smirk. He was a true original and will be greatly missed.

Garrett always had kind words for me, and harsh words for my favorite baseball team. The friendly rivalry we had was so much fun. Working with him on theater projects was always a blast. He was kind, talented, and downright fearless. I'm going to miss him.

Garrett, we're so sorry to hear that you lost the battle with cancer -- but so happy to hear that you're now where you're supposed to be, and I'm sure, loving the heck out of it! It was so great to be able to talk with you about incurable illness and how it brings some kinds of healing into our lives that we might not have otherwise been allowed to experience! I was so impressed by your attitude and your joy, Garrett. Blessings to you in this next journey -- and prayers for all your loved ones, that they might find some serenity in this time. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss. May you find comfort in Gods promise to see your beloved Garrett again (John 6:40), until the fulfillment of that promise, may you be comforted by your cherished memories.
