Miguel Campos Obituary
Miguel was born on September 29, 1931, in San Antonio Carupo, Michoacán, Mexico, to Ponciano Arredondo Calderon and Maria Campos Guzman.
In his youth, Miguel enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing pool, hunting, fishing, and even aspired to be a boxer. Seeking new opportunities, he moved from Morelia, Michoacán, to California, where he worked as a field laborer. It was during this time that he met Mary Estrada, whose charm and loving nature captured his heart. They married and built a life together, raising seven children while working in agriculture across northern California, Oregon, and Washington. Miguel's dedication to his family instilled a strong work ethic in his children.
Miguel embraced his role as a devoted grandfather. In his leisure time, Miguel took pride in tending to his rose bushes, lush lawn, and fruit trees. He also enjoyed reading hunting magazines and watching boxing matches, even rewatching old fights with enthusiasm.
Miguel is remembered for his kindness, hard work, and the immense pride he took in the home he built with Mary and the family they nurtured together.
He is survived by his children: Arthur Berber, Eleaser Berber, Raymond Estrada, Becky Mendoza, Manuel Hernandez, Christine Diaz, and Starlit Villafan; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings Guillermo, Adela, Elvira, Manuel, and Mercedes. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary; his daughter Lydia; his parents Ponciano and Maria; his sisters Guadalupe and Abigail, and his brother Pascual.
A viewing will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 4–7 PM, and the rosary will begin at 6 PM at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel, 1290 N. Winton Way in Atwater. A mass will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 10 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. The funeral procession will follow to the Winton Cemetery.
