January 28, 1959- July 26, 2016
Gary a beloved Son, Brother, Husband and Father passed away suddenly Tuesday morning at the age of 57. Gary was born and raised in Merced, California. He was a truck driver for the majority of his life and loved spending time with his family and friends in his spare time. He will forever be remembered for his kind and giving heart and eccentric sense of humor. He is predeceased by his father Elmer Barker and brother Dean Barker. He is survived by his loving wife Lisa Barker, his daughter Melissa (Steve) Verrinder and their children Zackary and Britany, his son Christopher (Stacy) Bethke and their children Adaline, Jose, Daniel, Cassidy, CJ and Paisley and his son Gary Barker Jr. and his children Erick, Makayla and Azalea. He is further survived by his beloved mother Barbara Silveira, his sister Erin (Al) Augusto and their children A.J. and Lance, his brother Darren Silveira, his sister Jessica Barker and her children Philip, Rebecca and Alex, his sister Alicia Barker and her children Elias and Emily and his brother Dean's surviving children David, Michael, Timothy and Joshua along with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday July 29, 2016 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Whitton Family Funeral Home located at 740 W. 19th St. in Merced, California for those who wish to pay their last respects.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.

The times and fun we had as kids,granny yelling at us not to do something which we did anyway.grandad not sure about us but keep an eye on us.now you have shocked me and others who love you and will miss you very much.thoughts of us growing up will always be with me and miss what future lays ahead. Wow I am lost for words rite now Gary was like an uncle to me he and Lisa trated me as though I was family Took me in. I know you will for ever be missed but never for gotten. THANK YOU UNCLE MAY YOU REST IN PARADISE.
