JoAnn Baily Obituary
November 3, 1941 - July 18, 2025
Merced, California - JoAnn Stevens Baily, 83, of Merced, California, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2025.
Born on November 3, 1941, in Stockton, California, JoAnn was raised in Linden, where she attended school and participated in 4-H and Rainbow Girls. She later earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Sacramento State University and went on to dedicate more than four decades to teaching. Her long career as an educator left a lasting impact on many students over the years.
After retiring, JoAnn embraced her love of travel attending USC football games and enjoying cruises with her husband. She also found joy in listening to country music.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Baily; her children, Julie Herman and Robert Baily; eight grandchildren Tyler, Kacey, Aiden, Mason, Alexis, Adelyn, Russel, and Kaylee; and one great-grandchild, Kaidyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Evelyn Stevens, and her brother, Bob Stevens.
A celebration of life will be held for friends and family at Club Mercedes on August 14 at 1:00 p.m. A private ceremony will follow at Santa Nella, where JoAnn will be laid to rest.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

We use to go out to dinner with a group of people when John worked at the county. Kind of lost track of them both after john left the county. Thought of.them both a lot. So sorry to hear about this. She was a wonderful lady.

JoAnn had both of my kids at OLM years ago, and I volunteered in her classroom. My daughter was our firstborn, and you know how hard you try to do everything right on the 1st kid. I could always count on JoAnn to help me try to do the right thing and be a good parent. I´ll never forget her big voice & smile, she was a wonderful teacher & person
