Merry Belle Hostetler was born on February 23, 1927, in Massillion, OH, and passed into eternal peace on Friday, July 20,2018.
Merry Belle married Edward Hostetler in Clearfield, PA on December 10, 1947, after his return from World War ll. They honeymooned in California and forever made it their home. After living a short whild in Gardena, CA, they moved to Chowchilla, CA where they lived until 1964. In 1964, Ed and Mary Belle moved to Dos Palos,CA. She was an exceptional home maker for many years before opening House of Hostetler Antiques in Chowchilla and later the Country Tea Shoppe and Antiques in Dos Palos. Merry Belle and Edward owned and operated Hostetler Real Estate in Los Banos,CA, for 40 years as an awesome team.
Merry Belle was an entrepreneur. She loved to entertain and there were but few events that they did not attend and dance the night away. Merry Belle lived up to her name as she was the life of the party and her infectious laugh and bright smile were her signature trademark. Merry Belle embraced life and lived it to the fullest. Merry Belle and Ed travled throughout Europe and the continental United States, all while making lifetime friends they met during their travels as they enjoyed life together.
Merry Belle is survived by her husband of 70 years, Edward W. Hostetler; her sister, Joann Cappola of Wooster, OH; her sons, Greg Hostetler and Rory Hostetler of Los Banos,CA; her daughter, Suzanne Hostetler Rider and her husband Clay of Fresno; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family dearly thanks Maria Romero of Visalia,CA; Cindy Hoogasian; and our sweet Amirah of Fresno; and Caring Heart Staff for their exceptional care and compassion over the past 13 years.
An intimate family gathering is planned.
