Aileen Daily Obituary

San Jose
Aileen passed peacefully at home at the age of 91, a resident of San Jose since 1966.
The older of two children, she was born in Buffalo, New York, and was a graduate of Millard Fillmore School of Nursing and the University of Buffalo with a BS in Nursing Education in 1950. She worked at Millard Fillmore Hospital as a Nursing Instructor until 1958.
Aileen and Allen met at church in Buffalo and married on June 18, 1955. Moving to San Jose in 1966, the Daily's became active members of First Congregational Church of San Jose. Aileen was a leader in Woman's Fellowship, the Director of Christian Education from 1972 to 1980, Church Clerk for 34 years and Office Volunteer for 13 years. Beyond church, Aileen had many interests and areas of service including as a volunteer for the Auxiliary of Good Samaritan Hospital for 25 years and a member of P.E.O. women's organization since 1982. Once Allen retired, they enjoyed traveling all over the world and developed many long lasting and dear friendships through their travels with Sons in Retirement (SIRs).
As loving wife of Allen for almost 63 years; dear sister of Patricia Wild; proud mother of Wayne (Bev) and Curt (Tammy); adoring grandmother of Jenny (Jeremy), Cynthia, Alison (Elijah), Rebecca (Angie), Scott, Michelle and Brian (Julia); and great-grandmother of six, Aileen was dearly loved, will be forever remembered and greatly missed. Aileen was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Lillian Radtke, and by her aunt Helen Radtke.
A memorial service celebrating Aileen's life will be held at First Congregational Church of San Jose at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 21st in Fellowship Hall with a reception following. Remembrances may be made in Aileen's name to First Congregational Church.

Dear Allen and family, Aileen was such an amazing woman, and I was so sad to hear of her passing. I think of her with such fondness. She was a great help and support to me, during my years of ministry at First Congregational Church, and she always had an encouraging word to say, or advice to share. I know you will miss her! Sending you hugs from Colombia!
