Alexis Malone Obituary

Alexis Dorothy Malone (Waugh)
December 6, 1945 - November 13, 2019
Formerly of San Francisco
Alexis Dorothy Malone (Waugh), 73, of East Dennis, MA formerly of San Francisco, CA passed away peacefully on November 13, 2019 with her loving husband, Douglas Waugh, by her side.
Lexi was born and raised in San Francisco, the daughter of the late Emmett and Dorothy (Holcombe) Malone. She was a proud San Franciscan and proud of her Irish heritage.
Lexi received undergraduate degree from San Jose State University, her Master's Degree from Humboldt State University and law degree Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She was a member of the California State Bar. Alexis was a teacher who taught 8th grade special needs, she then pursed her second career with Intel Corporation. She was a trail blazer in the semiconductor field as not only a successful business woman who garnered several awards and earned respect from all levels of management. She was also the first female District Sales Manager appointed by Intel. She was transferred to Boston, MA in 1990 where she met the love of her life. Moving to Boston was both a challenge leaving the Bay Area, taking on a sales office of people she hardly knew but of course not only did she tackle this she embraced it.
Boston (especially the Cape) was her second home that she truly relished. Even going to the point of showing off her newly acquired (fake) Boston accent to her friends and family members still back in the Bay Area. A couple of fond memories of Lexi's early stories of coping with this new landscape; her first snow storm driving around the blinking snow plow and wondering why she was being honked at; calling me to explain she had no idea what storm windows in the rental house were for.. she also thought the blue laws and package stores "packies" were priceless.
After her retirement at age 55 she went to law school and passed the California bar. She and her husband enjoyed working together in their own practice in consumer bankruptcy, tax and immigration matter for 12 years. She applied her wise, intuitive perspective with genuine compassion in both her professional and personal life.
Lexi had such strength of character and determination. She was always continuing to grow and expand her intellectual horizons. Every minute of life held value and humor for Alexis. Even in the most mundane everyday situation, Alexis' quick wit and infectious laugh could add levity and purpose. Her innate grace and heart-felt praise gave all who came into her circle of life, a sense of hope and self-worth. She was dedicated to her circle of friends whom she cherished. She had a blue collar and democratic outlook on life. She cared about those souls oppressed and of less fortunate backgrounds. In San Francisco she was on the Board and work with Cecil Williams Glide Memorial Church who are dedicated to helping the homeless.
Lexi enjoyed swimming and was very active with the Metropolitan Club in San Francisco. She was a walking expert on the liturgical calendar and the various Saints Days as an example. She was also an artist and belonged to two painting groups on the Cape which she thoroughly loved.
In addition to her beloved husband Douglas, she is survived by her four adored children Seamus Hirsch, Shandy Malone, Alexis Jr. Robinson and James Waugh and her 7 cherished grandchildren; Haley, Ian, Mikaela, Lyla, Audrey, Ronan and Nova. She is also survived by her brother Kevin Malone and his daughter Coley and her sister-in-law Laura Waugh.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 6, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul's Church, 666 Filbert Street, San Francisco, CA 94133.

So sorry to here if Lexi's passing.
I thought of here often over the last 60 years. We dated all thru high school....winter dance's ,proms, and plays at Presentation high school and Serra high.

One of the funniest events of those years was i went to the house to pick her up for a date
and in conversation with her father I mentioned that I was wearing a new golf sweater. His response was priceless.

He said it looked like I h6as cut the crotch out of and old pair of sweatpants.

I hit the floor laughing so hard.

I can see where she got her sense of humor

Rest in peace sweet lady
