Brian Williams Memoriam

In Loving Memory
Brian Eliot Williams
3/22/1950 - 1/7/2021
Brian passed away unexpectedly in rural Monterey County. The son of Dale and Dorothy Williams, he grew up riding horses on the family ranch in Cupertino where he watched The Valley of Heart's Delight transition into Silicon Valley. Brian graduated from Lynbrook High in 1968 and was a tree climber for many years. He was also a state certified water master and worked for small water companies in the Santa Cruz Mountains. In his life he struggled with alcoholism and courageously took the difficult personal steps to overcome this disease. Brian loved the national parks and wilderness and was in awe of their vast beauty. Always the country boy, Brian found his home these last 10 years volunteering with the US Forest Service, assisting with trail repair teams and then caring for the pack animals on the Merle Ranch in the Las Padres National Forest.
He is survived by sisters Lindy (Luke) and Claudia; nieces Anke (Garry), and Ulla (Tom). Grandnieces Lena, Maya, Ciella, and Sara brought him much joy. We will celebrate his life when the pandemic abates. Donations in his memory can be made to the Semper Virens Fund or remember Brian with a nice long walk in the woods.
