Resident of San Jose
Carl Nowack was taken suddenly from this life last Thursday. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, coach and number one fan for each of his daughters and a good friend to all he met.
Carl was born in Quebec, Canada, immigrating to the US with his family in 1962. He graduated from Camden High School, earning a degree in Marketing from San Jose State University. He was the consummate salesman, developing lifelong friends among co-workers and business contacts.
He was an avid sports and music fan and shared his love of both with anyone who would join in conversation. He was a lifelong health fanatic, enjoying weight-training, cooking and mixing homemade health drinks.
Carl is survived by his wife, Jan; daughters Kat, Erika, Gaby and Mia; sister and brother-in-law, Gaby and Duane Jewell; nieces and nephews Lorraine, Erik, Karla and Brian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Ruth, and sister, Christel.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Carl's life on Saturday, Jan 19, 2013 at 12:30 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 2620 Aborn Road, San Jose, CA.

So sorry to hear of Carl's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. Over the years our families have come together through our girls on the softball field. I am sure Carl is watching his girls on the field smiling! May he rest in peace and his family remember he is with you in your hearts!

We are so deeply sorry for your loss. We have only just been made aware of Carl's passing and would have attended his services if we had known. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this most sorrowful time. It has been years since we've seen Carl but we always knew him to be a quiet and kind young man, a good friend, a fine son and brother and we are deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I met Carl on my first day of my first job ever at Orchard Supply Hardware. He was a constant in my life for close to thirty years. A best man in my wedding and one of my best friends ever. You are missed tremendously.

I am very sorry for the loss of Carl
I did not know him but I was the Firefighter/Paramedic who cared for Carl upon his tragic event
Myself and the other two firefighters as well as the private medics worked very hard save his life.
Please know that I was with him during this time and he was with someone who cared.

I am sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to his wife and daughters. I worked with him for about 8 years. He was a great and caring guy. He was very proud of his daughters. My prayers are with his family through this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Carl for several years a decade ago, and I still remember how proud and involved he was with his daughters and family. He was always so positive and kind, and I'm sure he will be deeply missed.

I knew Carl for over 30 years. We shared interests in business, health and sports. I talked to Carl, on average, a few times a month over the last 30 years. In virtually every one of those conversations, he spoke of his daughters and of how proud he was of their achievements. Carl was so involved in their lives and I had the utmost respect for him as a father and as a friend. I am still coming to terms with the fact I will never hear his voice again. You will be dearly missed my friend......
