Clark S. Tossy

Long time Bay Area resident, died quietly at home on April 5, 2007. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, August 3, 1930. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and the Air Force. After serving for 3 years, he used his GI bill benefits to attend the University of llinois where he met Gretchen, his best friend and wife of 54 years. He is also survived by their children Mike and Laurie, and their partners Mark, and Cathy, and two granddaughters, Kaitlin and Madison. He joined IBM in 1954. His 37 year career took the family from Chicago to Endicott, NY, Poughkeepsie NY, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Japan and finally the Santa Clara Valley in 1970. Clark retired from IBM in 1991. Clark traveled extensively for business and pleasure. He enjoyed golfing and bridge. He used to say that when he retired he wanted to be within walking distance of a library. The move to The Villages in 1998 provided the library as well as golf and a multitude of social and entertainment activites.He was a dedicated volunteer for the Villages Medical Auxiliary and the American Red Cross Blood Services and Disaster Services.
