1937-2018
Former 50 year Resident of Cupertino
Darlene G. Thorne passed away at home on April 2nd, 2018, at the age of 80 years.
A native of San Francisco, Darlene was an avid and renowned collector of post cards and lover of California history, served as the Executive Director for the Milpitas and Cupertino Chamber of Commerce, was owner and publisher of The Wedding Guide, and served on the civil grand jury that whose investigations resulted in the resignation of the Mayor of San Jose.
Darlene is survived by her three children Vicki Leers, Dena Kaufer, and William Thorne, Son in law Leonard Kaufer, Daughter in law Karen Thorne, 5 stepchildren, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Darlene has been reunited with her loving husband Phil Devlin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 2:30PM:

Our mutual history of loving the Russian River and her fun loving parents, our next door neighbors for twenty years broughtmy wife and I to meet and enjoy Darlene´s sharing nature, outgrowing personality and strength. We spent many hours pouring over her Russian River card collection. I will never forget the fantastic party she and her husband thru for Bill and Jenn´s (70th Anniversary?). At the Fairmont Hotel in SF. She was one of a kind. My condolences to her family, extended family and friends.
