David Andrew Leppard passed away suddenly on May 29, 2016. David was born in Berkeley, CA on October 8, 1950, and grew up in Simi Valley. David earned both his BA in Philosophy and his MA in New Testament Theology at Wheaton College, Illinois. He was licensed and ordained with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in 1974 and 1977 respectively. He served pastorates in Santa Barbara CA; Everett, WA; Ivory Coast, West Africa; Waconia, MN; San Jose and Pacifica, CA. He had currently been serving as lead pastor at Trinity Alliance Church in Redding, CA.
David was a well-loved church leader and member of the community. In addition to his Christian leadership, he had many interests, including flying radio controlled airplanes and helicopters; hiking and biking; playing tennis; working out and spending time with his children, grandchildren and extended family members.
David is survived by his beloved wife of almost 44 years, Nancy; son Ben and wife Moira; daughter Becky and husband Micah; daughter Bethany and husband Andrew, and seven beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Carol and her husband John, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25th at 1:00 pm, Risen King Community Church, 6100 Oasis Rd, Redding, CA. In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation to either the Good News Rescue Mission in Redding (gnrm.org) or to Trinity Alliance Church – building fund (trinityalliance.org).

David had a "praying heart and was our Sheppard" His voice and laughter rings through the church grounds and brings peace...your smiling on us all now, assisting our Lord in bringing the comfort we all need. Your family is loved, by many, as we all find a way to walk without your presence.

I grew up with David, he was a wonderful friend to all and was very funny. I haven't seen him since High School, but still thought of him often and all the fun we had a kids. He will be missed by all.
