David Mashburn Obituary

David Woodruff Mashburn Born 8/26/1923 in Nashville, Tenn, died 12/30/2004, in Seattle, WA. David is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Betty. He leaves behind two daughters, Terry (Eric) Liljencrantz; Bellevue, WA and Kristy (Gordon) Dahle; San Jose, CA. He will be sorely missed by his grandchildren Andrew and Jennifer Dahle. He is also survived by his sister, Pauline Stokes of Henderson, NV.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard in World War II where he served in the South Pacific on numerous island invasions. Member of the Sunnyvale Sirs Branch 62. He was a charter member of the Sunnyvale Elks #2128 where he had served as Treasurer. He retired from the City of Mtn View in 1985. He enjoyed golfing (life career of 4 hole-in-ones), bowling, dancing and life. He enjoyed traveling the world and only missed visiting one continent, Antarctica because it was too cold and did not have a golf course.

Funeral arrangements by the Neptune Society and as per his request, no memorial services will be held and his ashes will be scattered at sea. Remembrances in his name may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice.

Betty, i had read of Daves death earlier in the year. at that time it was too late to enter the guest book. the merc just opened it up again.i was sorry to hear of his death. he was a fun guy to be around always a joke and he made you laugh. i saw him at the A@W several years ago and had a small talk with him. i hope you are okay and i wish you all the best.Al (Rip) collins.
