Donald Duggins Obituary
Nov. 17, 1935 - Sept. 13, 2021
Resident of Campbell, CA
Donald Clayton Duggins passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 13, 2021. Don was born Nov. 17, 1935 in San Francisco, CA. He graduated from Sacramento High School in 1953.
He was a proud veteran, and served with the Navy as a Flight Navigator. He worked for the Sacramento Bee, later relocating to the bay area as a Pressman for the San Jose Mercury News for 30+ years, retiring in 1998.
Don had many hobbies which included, golfing, fishing, playing cards, and having some beers. He was a huge 49er fan, and went to every Super Bowl. He also loved the SF Giants, Warriors, Stanford football, baseball, and basketball.
Don was a member of the American Legion Post 99. He cared very much for his community, often finding him cooking, and BBQ'ing for his friends.
Don is survived by his sons Layne & Craig, and daughter Christina, the Fawcett family, and the Rowe family. He will be greatly missed and loved.
For family and friends, there will be a Celebration of Life for Don, at 870 Camden Ave, Campbell, CA. It will at The Timber Cove Club House, on Saturday Nov. 6th, from 3pm to 7pm. For more details call Catherine at 408-210-8024.

I´m from the Timber Cove group. I saw Don, and we would talk at club events. Neither of us was socially pushy, but he always had something to say, a unique viewpoint. Six or seven years ago, I started writing and illustrating for our community journal, the Splinter. It turned out to be a lot of work, with not a lot of appreciation...except for Don. After a few issues were out, one a month, he approached me at a club event and said, "I have a suspicion you used to be a reporter... pretty good stuff!" It was one of the first really nice complements, and has warmed my soul many times since that time. Thanks, Don.
