To the family of Mr. Eddie Dinsmore:
I was very sad, a few months ago, when Nina told me Mr. D was very ill. He was a wonderful person; as busy as he was at work, he always had time to stop by my desk and chat for a few minutes, give me a big smile and ask how things were going. May the Good Lord have you in His keep, surrounded by His angels, Mr. D, you will be missed by many. May the beautiful memories he left you be of comfort to you, Marlo, Ryan, Sharla and the rest of the family.

A tree is best measured when it falls. For my friend Eddie there was no need to wait as I along with countless others knew he measured tall and giant in life. During my 17 years as a Postal Inspector in San Francisco Eddie’s office was proximate to mine. I cannot recall a single instance when he was not immersed in work. I spent countless hours in his office interrupting his work listening to his wisdom and seeking his counsel. Eddie was dedicated to his military and postal careers. He was also always attentive to the needs of his subordinates. His dedication was exemplary. Life is not measured in how many toys we acquire. Life is best measured with a simple question: did we leave what we found in better condition when we departed? What greeted Eddie was always left in a superior condition. Eddie was truly a great person. His passing leaves me deeply in grief. I will never forget my friend Eddie. To the Dinsmore Family my sincerest condolences. Paul FX Lowery

My sympathy and prayers are with you, Marlo, Ryan, Sharla, and everyone who knew and cared about "Mr. D," as I and other Inspection Service support technicians knew him. I was privileged to have had several personal talks with him, and he left an imprint of a "true, blue American" - full of character, warmth, and fun. He was such a wonderful story teller; but I guess he never did compile the many anecdotes that I used to encourage him to publish. God bless him. I can just imagine him now leading a group of heavenly "Angel Scouts" - always busy, always involved!

I was so sorry to hear of Eddie's passing. Man, we use to have a lot of fun talking about our Air Force days and he playing football for them too. We also talked about the 49ers and the years when they won the Super Bowls. I remember Sharla too as a PPO at 7th & Mission Sts and she used to come and brighten up my day in the Supply room of the Inspection Service. That was way back in the 1970's and those were some good ole times. My sincerest condolences to Sharla and family. May Eddie's memory be a blessing. Ed Baugarten

My heartfelt condolences to Eddie's daughter, Marlo, son, Ryan, Sharla, and the entire Dinsmore family. I remember Eddie (49er's) & my (Raiders) sports discussions. They still make me smile. Eddie served his country (USAF) and the public (USPS-Postal Police) for over 50 years (combined). And his volunteer work with the Boy Scouts was appreciated by many. He left some great memories for many who knew him.

I will miss Eddie. I loved that he lived life his own way, not influenced by technology and the faced paced world. His conversations were rich with life just like him. A wonderful man who left many memories and a great legacy.

Eddie will be missed. He was a great Scouter and it was a privilege to work with him on several Scout training courses. I will always remember him telling me his stories about boxing and how he controlled his weight. "I just don't eat for a few days" he'd say and grin. He had an infectious laugh. I am sorry for his loss, not only for his family but all of us whose lives he touched through Scouting.
