Fred Carr, 76, a longtime resident of San Jose, passed away July 11, 2014. Fred was born August 1, 1937 in Hollywood, CA.
A Navy veteran, Fred worked at Lockheed Propulsion Co., Redlands, CA, then as Director at FM4 Gila River Corp. in AZ, before returning to Lockheed Martin in 1984. He retired in 2009.
Fred was a dedicated volunteer at the Harker School and became very active with the Friends of the Cambrian Library. He will be remembered for his passion for reading, gardening, and woodworking skills.
Fred is survived by his wife, Candy and daughter, Emily of San Jose and daughters Anita (Doug), CO; Debbie (Earl) CA; Kathy, AZ; Patti, AZ; Panda (Roger), IN; and Marian, CO; two sisters, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A man of few words, he is remembered for his giving spirit and his distinguished moustache. Definitely one of the good guys!
A Celebration of Life will be held at Viva Los Gatos, Aug 19, 5:00-7:00.
