George Tkach Obituary
December 19, 1936 - May 10, 2021
Resident of Los Gatos
Jim is survived by the love of his life, Donna, his wife of 66 years and their six sons, Thomas (Theresa), Timothy (Jaye), George (Jan), Daniel (Marylee), Michael (Shannon), Joseph (Linda), his 12 grandchildren, and his nine great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father George Tkach, mother Goldie Murphy (passed when Jim was only six months), and his sister, Kathryn.
Jim was born in Dubuque, Iowa. He was raised in Arizona and Illinois attending high school in Wheaton, IL. Jim joined the U.S. Air Force at the young age of 17, and married his high school sweetheart, Donna at age 18. He went on to work at FMC, managed a car wash, and then graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Environmental Studies. He joined and worked for IBM for the next 20 years until his retirement.
Jim was active in his church; his faith being very important to him. He loved his family, golf, horses and travel (especially Hawaii). He is greatly missed by many.
Visitation will be held at Darling Fischer, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave, Los Gatos on May 26th at 4pm with Rosary Service at 7pm. A funeral Mass will be held on May 27th at 10:30am at St. Frances Cabrini Parish in San Jose, officiated by Father Lieu Vu. Burial will follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
