Resident of Pleasanton, CA
Glen Christoffersen passed away May 2, 2021. He was born to Willie and Lillian (Larsen) Christoffersen in Underwood, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1956 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and worked for Lockheed in Sunnyvale, in their ballistic missile program. He married Bonnie L. McKnabb in 1955 and they had 3 children before her death in 1966. In 1969, he married Margret B. Nielsen. His hobbies included travel, photography, woodwork, metalwork, barbershop singing, and was a train & steam engine enthusiast, belonging to many antique steam & gas engine organizations.
He is survived by his children, Eric Christoffersen, Jill Corley, and Karl (Aleja) Christoffersen, 4 grandsons, 4 great-grandchildren, brother Paul (Leana) Christoffersen, sister Doris (Bertelsen) Grote, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held June 18 at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church Livermore, 2020 5th St., Livermore, CA 94550. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to RWH Foundation, PO Box 671, Felton, CA 95018 to support the Preservation of Western Heritage & Steam Trains.
