Glen Meskimen Obituary

Glen Meskimen

Resident of Seattle
Glen Meskimen, beloved father, grandfather (Papa), brother and friend, passed away on November 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald C., his mother Peggy and his wife Evelyn. He was born in Las Vegas, NV and grew up in Redwood City, CA. Glen built a successful business in the Bay Area and was respected by his peers and colleagues. His love for sailing and traveling the world became a big part of his life. After retiring he made Seattle his new home.
Glen is survived by his partner of seven years, Herma Wells, his children: Glen Jr, Sean and Jessica, his grandchildren: Brooke, Nicholas, Katlin, Max and Raymond, his siblings, nieces and nephews.
Glen was taken from us too soon, but we can picture him sailing heaven's oceans with all of his loved ones and friends. A memorial service was held on December 3rd at 11 a.m. at Butterworth Funeral Home. Followed by a Celebration of his Life in early spring time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Glen's honor may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

So sorry to hear my old friend Glen has passed. We grew up together on Harding Ave. in Redwood City. I've known Glen since we first met in the year 1952. We did a lot together in the 'hood; playing stick ball, building forts, motorizing a Flexi Flyer, and most important, sailing with the Sea Scouts. We lost track of each other for almost 50 years but then our paths crossed at a business meeting. My last contact with Glen was at his boat christening, the Enya. Glen, I'll always have the great memories of the experiences we shared. My best on your next journey.

Glen was a great sailor and a great friend to many of us in the Sausalito Yacht Club.
He brought warmth and interest to many lives, and we will miss him.

I have known Glen and Evelyn for 37 wonderful years. They opened their home and their hearts to me when I first started dating their son, Glen Jr. Our daughter, Brooke, was Glen's first grandchild. Brooke named her grandfather 'Papa'. That was 29 years ago. Then, 4 years later, came our son, Nick, who followed suit and referred to his grandpa as 'Papa'. Thereafter, all of the grandchildren had a papa. He was such an amazing grandfather who loved all of his family so very much. He was so happy when we all got together. Lots and lots of great memories that we will have forever. The picture you see in his obituary was taken just 4 years ago at my daughter's wedding. He was so proud and so happy. RIP to an amazing dad, husband, brother, father-in-law, uncle, nephew, son, grandfather, friend. Thanks for the memories. Give Grandma Lyn a big hug and kiss for us all. We love you both very much. xoxo

I knew Glen as an employee of HTB Inc, and as a friend for many years. Glen and his company HTB always stood for many great things, Honesty,Loyalty, and Quality to name a few, and a firm but fair understanding of what was expected, a trait I will always admire and respect. Glen's Company, HTB had a nickname of Hard To Beat, I often felt that of him as well. Thank you for the great memories. Rest in peace my friend.

I didn't know Glen as an adult, but as a child living on the Alameda de las Pulgas, in Redwood City, I played with him often (sometimes throwing dirt-clods at one another, as young boys will do). We attended John Gill School in kindergarten. It was a complete surprise to learn that he was close by in Seattle (I now live in Auburn). Godspeed and rest in peace, my old playground buddy.
