Jerome Maxwell "Jerry" Rosenberg

Jerome Rosenberg Obituary

Jerome Maxwell Rosenberg

Resident of Los Altos

June 19, 1926-Dec. 6, 2011

Jerry was born in San Francisco, CA, to Morris and Sara Rosenberg and grew up in Oakland. In 1948 he received a degree in electrical engineering from UC Berkeley. After army service, he went to work at Chromatic Television Labs with Ernest Lawrence, developing the first color television tube. In 1959, he went to work in Palo Alto for Phil co- later to become Ford Aerospace. During the next 30 years, Jerry became a leader in the early NATE Communications Satellite Systems and was an integral part in the Mariner, Viking, Galilee, and Voyager spacecraft communications projects, receiving the NASAL Public Service award in 1981 for outstanding leadership as Program Manager of the Voyager antenna subsystem.

With all Jerry's professional accomplishments, family always came first. He was a man of great compassion, who would do anything for his friends and family with a steady demeanor and an easy laugh. His innate curiosity lead him to be an automobile enthusiast, an accomplished organist and member of the Sierra Theater organ society, a down hill skier and world traveler.

Jerry will be remembered with love by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie "Marge" Brown Rosenberg, children Martin Rosenberg, David Rosenberg, and Linda Rose Jones, and, grandchildren, Amelia and William & Max and Car leigh Rosenberg, and Cameron & Kelsey Jones.

Friends and family are invited to attend services at Mat. Tamalpais cemetery 2500 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael, CA. Sunday, December 11th at 11am. Remembrances can be given in Jerry's name to the American Diabetes Association PO Box 22312 Alexandria, VAL 22312 diabetes.org

May his memory always be a blessing.
