Jerry Lindsay Rawlings

RAWLINGS, Jerry Lindsay -- On August 9th, 2003, Jerry Lindsay Rawlings embarked on his final road trip, leaving many beloved family members & friends. Jerry was a cherished blessing to the late Jack Rawlings and Dorothy Lindsay Rawlings. He was the pride of his father's life till he left us in 1985 and continued to be the apple of his mother's eye till her death in February of this year. He leaves behind his beloved sister Donna Rawlings Sole and brother-in-law Joseph Sole, dear nephews Joseph Dominic and Nicholas Jack. His many aunts, uncles, and cousins will never forget him: The Lindsay, Lawrence, Mondo and Indra families. The Hannan family was also honored to have him as an adopted family member On September 6, 1958 Jerry came into the world as a sixth generation Almaden/Blossom Valley native, born to ancestors who arrived in 1866 to pioneer agriculture, education and civil development in the valley. He attended Branham High School, where he was a member of the graduating class of 1976. He attended West Valley College and San Jose State University and played football throughout his school years. He loved the ocean, the Ruby Mountains, hiking, fishing, camping, SCUBA & free diving, weight lifting, rock & roll and especially animals. He was an avid art collector and his savvy knowledge of sixties art rock & roll posters was unmatched. Jerry will be remembered for his honesty, integrity, compassion and witty humor. His devotion to his family and friends remained to the end. Special thanks go out to Joe, Eileen, Eric, Maya, Maureen, Declan & Karen, Russ, Karen C., and Carrie for their continued support over the past few months. Family and friends are encouraged to join us in the celebration of the life and times of Jerry Rawlings on Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the home of Donna and Joe Sole, 489 Cheyenne Lane, San Jose, San Jose.
