John Fales Obituary

John Raymond Fales
May 20, 1974 - January 4, 2016
Resident of San Jose
John leaves us way too soon to be with his Almighty Father, his birth father William John Fales and all the Fales' preceding his death. John is survived by his daughter Caroline, son Nolan and their pets Derel and "Duuude", mother Dolores, grandmother Rose, ten siblings: Carole Medica, Susan Sterner, Gary, Paul, Neil, Michael, Nancy Stenstrom, Matthew, Donna Hobson, Ray and their spouses as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
John graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1992 and earned a Business degree from CSU Chico in 1996.
To know John was to know love and unwavering friendship. To see John was to be enveloped by his broad, unmistakable smile. John's infectious laughter not only filled rooms, but also filled our souls.
A diligent provider, John leaves behind a legacy of deep and unconditional love for his children. Coaching their teams, driving them to practices, cheering from the side of the pool or baseball field, attending school concerts or plays, and sharing quiet moments together.
For all, time spent with John was a reminder of the immense joy that can be gleaned from the simplest pleasures in life. Although he excelled at his sales career, John believed his greatest wealth, his most important treasures, were his family and friends. John's true business on Earth was kindness, humor, friendship, and generosity. John personified the lyrics of one of his all time favorites, Neil Diamond: "Money talks, but it don't sing and dance and it don't walk. As long as I can have you here with me, I'd much rather be, forever in blue jeans."
John's ability to maintain a youthful view of the world kept his sense of excitement alive and well. Nothing was too small to be celebrated. He relished life's everyday moments and let no opportunity pass to say hello, give a high five or a big bear hug. Of all the places in the world, together was his favorite place to be. Together with his children, family or friends, making memories. John's kindheartedness remained unaltered by life's storms.
In 1986, John's father was a recipient of a heart donation, which allowed him 8 more years with his family. Now, true to his giving nature, John has paid it forward, giving the ultimate gift of his organs, so the recipients, in the true spirit of John Fales, may laugh more, cheer louder, smile more broadly, and enjoy being together with those they cherish.
JOHN WILL BE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS. FOREVER IN OUR MINDS. FOREVER YOUNG.
Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 11th at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Los Gatos with a "Celebration of John's Life" reception following at Los Gatos Lodge.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in John's memory for Caroline and Nolan on YouCaring.com

I didn't know John very well, but he was a neighbor of mine and was always very friendly. In the short time I knew him, I could see all the wonderful things in him that were mentioned in the beautiful tribute above, especially that smile of his. John always asked how I was doing and gave me some great advice about work and other things of life. I will miss his friendly face and chatting with him, as he stood in his driveway, most usually in an A's shirt/cap (we were the only couple of A's fans in the neighborhood). My condolences to his family. May God strengthen and comfort you.

Our deepest condolences to John's family, especially his kids. This has to be the hardest loss to go through. You are not alone in feeling such a loss. We knew John through his friendship with our sons Dan & Donovan Dresti. John graduated the same year as Donovan. Such a great guy and everything stated here on Legacy is so perfectly stated. All our hearts are broken, but we must all hang on to the memories and that we were all blessed with having John in our lives. He was an angel here on earth for 41 years. Now he is has his wings in Heaven. God bless you all. May you be comforted and loved though the sorrow.
